Our commitment
We place real value on providing equal, accessible service to everyone, including people with disabilities. Mamre's website is built in line with Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility Adjustments), 2013, and Israeli Standard 5568 for web content accessibility at level AA (based on the international WCAG 2.0 standard).
What's already implemented
The site was designed and built from the ground up with accessibility in mind. This includes:
- Full keyboard navigation on every page, including a "skip to main content" link at the top of each page.
- Clear, visible focus states on every link, button, and interactive element.
- Proper semantic structure — nested headings, a defined
mainlandmark, and correct tags for navigation and page titles. - Alt text for meaningful icons and images; purely decorative elements are hidden from screen readers.
- Color contrast that meets the standard's requirements between text and background.
- Full support for both right-to-left (Hebrew) and left-to-right (English) reading direction.
- Respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" setting — animations are automatically disabled for anyone who prefers that.
- Readable text sizes and full responsiveness across screen sizes, including support for browser text zoom.
Still in progress
The site has not yet undergone a full manual accessibility audit by a certified tester using assistive technology (such as an NVDA/JAWS screen reader). We see this statement as an honest description of the current state, not a claim of full compliance, and we're working to complete that audit soon.
Found an issue?
If you run into a difficulty or an accessibility barrier while using the site, we'd genuinely like to hear about it — every report will be reviewed and answered within a reasonable time.
